About CASP

CASP is a private, non-profit, parent-governed organization primarily serving children attending Caroline Elementary School. Children are admitted to CASP on a first-come, first-serve basis. No student will be excluded solely on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, income, or special needs.

The objectives of CASP are to

• Provide a safe environment

• Provide enjoyable and recreational activities

• Provide engaging and enriching activities

• Encourage children to assume individual responsibility

• Foster both group and individual cooperation

• Facilitate development of social interactions

• Foster student health and wellness through a combination of physical activity and adequate nourishing food

• Provide a quiet place for all children to do their homework

• Help children develop a sense of identity and self-worth

• Promote caring and friendship

• Assist children in finding appropriate outlets for anger and frustration; to re-direct harmful and/or destructive tendencies

• Encourage autonomy

• Provide contact with the larger community

• Reduce gender-stereotyping tendencies

Our Mission

The mission of CASP is to provide high-quality full time after school care and supplemental full day care to area children in kindergarten through fifth grade. CASP will provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for enjoyable recreational activities that will foster:

• Social skills (sharing, consideration, respect, sportsmanship and cooperation)

• Sense of identity and self-worth

• Individual responsibility

• Emotional growth

• Creative and artistic expression
